I understand that the person responsible for Swift Boat is the same person responsible for starting the rumor that McCain had fathered two black children out of wedlock, which may have cost McCain the nomination.
Now this in itself is just a rumor as far as I know and doesn't prove that everything this gentleman initiates lack integrity, but we do have sufficient reason to advance a theory that this is so. I've heard that he is currently involved in another initiative which also is considered by some to lack integrity.
The larger consideration is to examine the notion held by most conservatives that conservatives are models of integrity. I submit that conservatives approach their political objectives through a wide range of distortion, misdirection and outright lies and that conservatives should own up to these failings and get back in the human race.
The Swift Boat trashing of Kerry must certainly be juxtaposed by conservatives with the Betray Us ad by Moveon, and saddling Dukakis with Willie Horton was certainly unwarranted.
Face it, conservatives, you are sinners just like the rest of us.
